Hello, my name is Martha Pierre-Paul, Founder & CEO of MPP Fund Recovery Services LLC. Here is a brief story of how this company was birthed:
Sometimes life’s biggest setbacks turn out to be blessings in disguise. For me, that moment came when I was laid off from a job where, despite working hard, I felt like I wasn’t truly making a difference. At first, it was painful — but deep down I knew I was meant to serve a larger purpose, to help more people than just the owners of the company I had worked for.
While navigating my own finances, I stumbled upon something unexpected: unclaimed property. Curious, I searched for my own name, then for my family, and eventually for friends in my phone book. To my amazement, I uncovered money waiting for many of them — funds they had no idea were sitting there, unclaimed.
The joy I felt watching them reclaim what was rightfully theirs was indescribable. It wasn’t just about the money; it was about restoring something lost, giving people back a piece of their security and dignity. That night, inspiration struck like lightning. The idea of creating a service to help others do the same dropped into my spirit, and I couldn’t stop writing. Plans, visions, and strategies poured out of me, and I knew I had my work cut out for me — but I was ready.
